WSU hosting public conversation about fake news

The Wichita State University Public Policy and Management Center will host a panel discussion of local media experts to focus on sharing the facts in a world of fake news. The event will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, in the Marcus Welcome Center. It is free and open to the public.

The conversation will discuss what distrust of the media means for public service in the future, if it's possible to rebuild trust, how the public can discern between fake news and reliable information and whether technology can help bridge the gap.

This event is a part of Public Service Recognition Week. In addition to this public conversation, the Public Policy and Management Center will honor public servants on social media and in the community throughout the week.
