The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is excited to work with the Kansas Humanities Council, Wichita Public Library and other collaborators to present Candid Conversations, a discussion of race in Wichita. These discussions will be hosted throughout the coming months. The seventh topic will be an Officers of Color Panel Discussion from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Evergreen Branch Library. Join a candid conversation with a diverse array of police officers who know the challenges of being part of the community and part of the Wichita Police Department. How does their race and ethnicity create opportunities? Are there special pressures on them from the community they serve? Danielle Johnson, assistant director of ODI, will facilitate the dialogue.
