Six SAS members selected as Senior Honor Men and Women

Each year, the university celebrates a small group of collegiate seniors who have demonstrated excellence in academics, involvement and other contributions to the WSU campus through the Senior Honor Men and Women banquet. Numerous students apply for the award but typically just 10 students are selected, and this year marked the 100th anniversary for the recognition. In the university's history, fewer than 1 percent of all WSU students have been selected for this tremendous achievement. This year's Senior Honor Men and Women honorees included six members of the Office of Admissions' affiliated student organization, Student Ambassador Society.

SAS honorees included:
Katie Deutsch - graduating from business and will be working with the General Counsel of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Kiah Duggins - graduating from business and moving to Taiwan in the fall as part of her appointment as a Fulbright Scholar
Hassan Farhoud - graduating from LAS and pursuing multiple options in medical school
Tyler Gegen - graduating from business and beginning work in a full-time capacity in the Office of Admissions, as communications strategist and admissions representative
Sarah Nelson - graduating from business and attending law school at Washington University in St. Louis next year
Tram Ngo - graduating from business and considering various appointments with local business and community organizations

The admissions team has the great pleasure of working with so many talented students in SAS and clearly this year's outgoing group is impressive. SAS' motto is "Loyal Service Through Shocker Spirit" and their dedication to help recruit future Shockers -- while being engaged in academic and involvement excellence -- leaves a legacy with the university.
