Reminders, deadlines and events

* Join the WSU Office of Diversity and Inclusion and WSU Counseling and Testing Center for processing thoughts and feelings in light of recent events on campus at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 10) in 208 RSC. This is a safe and inclusive space where all are welcome to engage about the campus climate.

* More than 2,300 students are eligible to participate in the 119th spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 13, at WSU. Ceremonies will be held in Charles Koch Arena. Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in college ceremonies. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5581 for details.

* High school graduations, Shocker Hall Move-Out, Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field meet and WSU commencement are among the events / activities that will result in some parking lot closures now through Friday, May 19. * Registration is open for fall 2017 classes, and that means it's time to sign up for a WSU choir audition. If you're a WSU student who would like to be involved in choir, or if you simply know a student who should be involved in choir, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5580 for more information.

* Welcomefest occurs the first two weeks of classes each semester and features dozens of activities. Submit your department or organization events by 5 p.m. Monday, July 24, for Welcomefest marketing. Student Involvement reserves the right to deny or terminate any events that are not planned completely or are deemed inappropriate for Welcomefest and / or the people in attendance. * The WSU Child Development Center is hiring teacher assistants who are available to work this summer and into the fall semester. If you are interested, call 978-3109 or stop by and fill out an application. We work around your class schedule, we're fun and it's a great atmosphere in which to work.

* Textbook buyback is underway at the University Bookstore. Bring in your gently used textbooks now through Saturday, May 13, during normal hours of operation, to receive cash for your books. Rental books are due back by Tuesday, May 16, with a late fee charged after that date. A valid Shocker ID is required for all buyback transactions.
