Inspired by the Joan Miro's "Bird People" located at Wichita State's Ulrich Museum, 4th graders at Buckner Performing Arts and Science Magnet Elementary created their own tile mosaic, which was dedicated during a special assembly at the school recently. The Ulrich Museum coordinated with Arts Partners and Buckner on producing a mural based on WSU's mural. Some of Buckner's students were involved in WSU's Miro celebration last October, and Ulrich Museum Director Bob Workman spoke at the dedication ceremony on their mural on the facade of Buckner.
