Reminders, deadlines and events

* University Libraries and the Rocky Mountain Regional Office of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) are hosting a free "All Day Patent Seminar" for inventors and entrepreneurs from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, May 20) on the first floor, Ablah Library in C-Space. * Isely Lane will be closed from 7-10 a.m. today (Friday, May 19) for construction activities on the parking garage. In addition, Isely Lane also will be closed for all traffic except for WSU deliveries from 7-11 a.m. Monday, (May 22). Isely Lane will reopen to all traffic at the completion of the concrete pour.

* The Office of Research will host a National Science Foundation (NSF) webcast for the Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) from noon-2 p.m. Monday, May 22, in 265 RSC. Eligible faculty who wish to submit to NSF for a CAREER award are asked to contact proposals@wichita.edu as soon as possible, and to attend an upcoming NSF webcast. * Members of the EAT.DRINK.PLAY. Rewards program in Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes can enjoy free pool on Fridays in May. If you are not a member, joining is free and easy. Simply stop by the sports grill counter or customer service to register. Availability may vary due to special events and group reservations.

* Requisitions are due as normal at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 28. The WSU Foundation does not encumber funds and cannot write any checks for fiscal year 2017 after June 30, 2017. We want to be sure our donors are recognized in the proper gift clubs, so be sure to deliver all gift deposits for this fiscal year ending June 30 by noon Monday, July 3, 2017.

* WSU faculty and staff are welcome to form their own teams or walk with Community Engagement Institute staff for the Heart Walk & F.A.S.T. (Face, arms, speech, time) 5K at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Wichita State. Check-in starts at 8 a.m. You can choose either a one or three mile walk.
