WSU faculty and staff are welcome to form their own teams or walk with Community Engagement Institute staff for the Heart Walk & F.A.S.T. (Face, arms, speech, time) 5K at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Wichita State. Check-in starts at 8 a.m. You can choose either a one or three mile walk. This year we're walking for many reasons and are highlighting those on our team page -- http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5578. One reason is 12-year-old Blake, son of Community Engagement Institute staff member Lindsey Stillwell. He was born with congenital heart defects and had open heart surgery almost one year ago. He has benefited by the money raised through research that allowed him to wait 11 years to have surgery when his heart was much larger and healthier. Your support is appreciated.
