* Human Resources, in conjunction with The Kansas Department of Labor's Division of Industrial Safety and Health, will offer workplace ergonomic assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 13-14. Each assessment takes 15 to 20 minutes. We invite employees interested in the evaluation to sign up by sending their name, title and department / office location to Sarah Hunter at sarah.hunter@wichita.edu. There are very limited slots available, so sign up soon.
* Choose to ACT. Join us for this new eight-week group to learn alternative ways of responding to negative thoughts and worries. You will learn mindfulness techniques and explore ways to live a more meaningful and valued life. The group meets from 3:30-4:30 p.m. every Monday starting today (June 5) in 320 Grace Wilkie Hall. If you are interested in joining the group, contact the Counseling and Testing Center at 978-3440.
* Come with your questions and get assistance completing an IP disclosure form for your ideas, technology, curriculum, research and more from 2-4 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, June 6) in the Innovation Hub in 215 Devlin Hall. This is an open lab and no registration is required.
* Spring is over and summer has begun. Join us for some ice cream fun. A scoop of ice cream can help beat the heat. Come to the Experiential Engineering Building (EEB) for an afternoon treat. Please join President Bardo and the executive staff for ice cream from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, in the EEB lobby of the Experiential Engineering Building.
* The Office of Student Success is hiring success coaches for the fall semester. Success coaches help students develop into independent learners by supporting them in their transition to college, developing time management and study skills and connecting them with campus resources. Success coaches will facilitate workshops and classroom presentations on time management, test-preparation, etc., as well as meet one-on-one with students to develop a plan for success.
