Wichita State University's Summer Choir presents an 'Evening with Eugene Butler'

The Wichita State University School of Music invites the community to join the WSU Summer Choir for an "Evening with Eugene Butler." The concert will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. Thursday, June 29, in Wiedemann Hall. The doors will open 30 minutes before the show.

This year's concert showcases the music of Kansas composer Eugene Butler. The renowned composer has over 800 compositions with 40 different music publishers. The concert features some of Butler's early works, including a 1968 piece dedicated to the WSU Madrigals. During the concert Butler will share unique stories about his music and present his most recent composition.

The WSU Summer Choir will also be joined by special guest Johnson County Community Choir, conducted by Anita Cyrier. They will perform music from three different eras. The two choirs will join voices to conclude the performance.
