* On July 1, the university exemption to the Kansas Personal and Family Protection Act expired, mandating that all state universities allow concealed carry of handguns and prohibit possession of other weapons and open carry of firearms. Safety is the No. 1 priority at Wichita State University, and our goal is to work together to ensure that the entire campus community has the tools necessary to understand the law and how to maintain responsibility and personal safety. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5662 for more information.

* Effective Saturday, July 1, Wichita State and all of its satellite locations and WSU-owned properties became tobacco free. The new tobacco-free campus policy eliminates the use of any tobacco product, including cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, hookah and electronic cigarettes. WSU joins more than 1,100 college campuses in the United States that are tobacco free. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5650 for more information.

* The WSU Post Office receives a lot of mail with incorrect addressing, causing a delay of the addressees receiving their mail. Correct addressing of incoming mail is imperative for prompt delivery and receipt. All U.S. Mail should show the addressee's name, department name, department box number and nine-digit Zip Code legibly on the incoming item to ensure accurate delivery.
