Ten years ago, the College of Health Professions created a Leadership Academy to enhance the capacity of faculty and staff to exercise leadership on behalf of CHP strategic initiatives. The CHP Leadership Academy was framed around the principles and competencies developed at the Kansas Leadership Center (KLC). In 2012, the Leadership Academy became universitywide and moved under the auspices of Academic Affairs. To date, there have been approximately 175 alumni of the one-year leadership academy fellowship, as well as over 500 faculty and staff who have attended Leadership Academy stand-alone programs (e.g., Leading Adaptively in the University; WSU Day at KLC; Immunity to Change). All of these efforts have focused on enhancing the capacity of individual faculty and staff to exercise leadership more effectively in a variety of situations and settings.

The 2017-18 WSU Leadership Academy will be oriented around team leadership. Five to six teams that are committed to making progress on university-related initiatives will be selected (this includes intact units and departments). Teams should have five-eight members and may consist of faculty, staff, students and community partners. Each team will be coached through a process of team development and engagement around their specific initiative or adaptive challenge. Individuals on teams who have not been exposed to KLC principles and competencies will have access to Your Leadership Edge, KLC's online portal (https://www.yourleadershipedge.com/). There will be two, one-day programs (one in fall 2017 and one in spring 2018), when all teams convene for collective learning.

The application form is attached and is quite simple: 1) Describe your team initiative or adaptive challenge; 2) List the members of your team (names, titles, emails); 3) Describe what you hope your team achieves through this experience.
