* If you love baseball and beer, join your coworkers and members of WSU's premier social group the Young Shocker Professionals (YSP) at 6:30 p.m. today (Thursday, July 13) at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Employees from Airbus, Dassault and our other campus partners are invited as well as children and significant others. The Wichita Wingnuts will have $1 beer night at the stadium. * The award-winning documentary on the status of women in computer science, "Code: Debugging the gender gap," will be presented at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, July 14) in 233 RSC. A panel discussion of industry professionals will follow the documentary. Warning: the film contains strong language.
* Wichita State's 2017 volleyball schedule includes 11 home matches and four tournaments. The Shockers will have 20 matches in American Athletic Conference play and 10 matches against teams that participated in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The Shockers open the inaugural season in The American on Sept. 22 at Temple and host USF for the first American match in Charles Koch Arena on Friday, Sept. 29. * An Exercise Science Sports Camp for athletes in grades 6-12 who want to know and understand the physiology within the body during exercise and performance will be held from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, Aug. 7-11, at WSU. * WSU Housing and Residence Life is seeking volunteers to help with Move-In from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, and 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19.
