The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers a Shocker Shout Out to the Physical Plant's Tony Johnson. Recently a high school senior from Nebraska made an impromptu campus visit and tour after intending to make a different visit at another Kansas college. In an email to the admissions team, the student -- who is likely to be named a National Merit Scholar -- wrote that he was completely sold on WSU after the tour, presentation and seeing the Experiential Engineering Building and GoCreate. He specifically wrote about his time in the EEB, "There was a very helpful custodian named Tony Johnson that was incredible, as he saw us looking through the glass and decided to let us in to check out all the labs. He introduced us to a mechanical engineering student named Thomas, who was glad to show us around." Thanks to Tony for stepping in despite it being late in the afternoon on the day before a holiday. Helping to grow enrollment and improve retention is everyone's responsibility, so we salute Tony for going the extra mile to help this family.
