Environmental Finance Center offers free workshop
Students who attend the workshop will have the opportunity to apply for stipends that help them implement their project ideas that support sustainable materials management in the community.
The workshop will be followed by a free tour of Wichita Brewing Company's (WBC) bottling facility, where guests will see how WBC is sustainably managing their waste materials. Brew samples and apps provided for guests 21 or older.
Wichita State's EFC's Endeavor Sustainable Materials Management project is a grant funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The project promotes the reduction, reuse, recycling and composting of valuable resources previously regarded as waste. The project supports education for community leaders and stipends for students with sustainable materials management project ideas.
The Endeavor workshops and student stipends are currently being offered in Wichita and Omaha in collaboration with University of Nebraska at Omaha.
