Please be aware that there will be a multi-building power outage required for final circuit shift and power tie-in for the new Parking garage Thursday, Aug. 10. The outage will affect Henrion and Fiske Halls and all three wings of the McKnight Art Center, including the Ulrich Museum of Art. The outage will commence at around 9 a.m. and last most, if not all day. There is a possibility that, if the Westar work goes well, power can be restored by about 3 p.m., but the buildings should just be assumed to be without power all day on Thursday. University faculty and staff that have offices or equipment in Henrion Hall, and any and all parts of the McKnight Art Center, including the Ulrich Museum of Art, should safely save computer files and shut down computers and any sensitive electronic equipment before leaving the campus Wednesday evening. The public and campus community should expect those buildings to be closed all day on Thursday. Fiske Hall is already closed for renovation. We apologize for any and all inconveniences presented by this shutdown, but hopefully the timing prior to the semester and ahead of peak registration traffic will minimize campus disruption.
