Reminders, deadlines and events
* Because some Verizon network antennas were relocated over the summer in the vicinity of campus, Verizon wireless customers on campus will experience a reduced level of signal strength this fall compared to previous semesters. Verizon is aware of the situation and is addressing the issue, but they do not expect to provide improvements before January 2018. Depending on your location on campus at a given time, and many other factors, you may or may not receive a usable signal at this time.
* Science Friday is coming to Wichita for a night of stories about the science beneath our feet. Science Friday Live: Presented by KMUW will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Orpheum Theatre. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at http://www.KMUW.org
* Fall memberships at campus recreation are available. Visit the guest service desk at the Heskett Center for more information. The cost for Innovation Campus employees is the same as the general membership.
* Alex Kanelakos will return to his alma mater to share his professional challenges and triumphs working in flight control and mission control in the lecture "Like Houston, We Had a Problem: A Current Shocker Flight Controller's Perspective," at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, in the Experiential Engineering Building. * Are you ready to launch your idea? Through an interactive process, E-Launch helps you clearly conceptualize your product or service and assists you in developing a business model. The next launch will be from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 15-Nov. 3, in Devlin Hall's Innovation Hub. E-Launch has been developed to foster entrepreneurial activity that will lead to the commercialization of technology-based ideas.
