* The WSU Office of Research invites you to its first Research Workshop, "The Anatomy of a Patent" workshop from noon-1:30 p.m. today (Friday, Sept. 8) in 405 Jardine Hall. This is a brown bag event, so bring your lunch.

* Campus Ministry Connect is partnering with UMCOR and University United Methodist Church to provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to give toward Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts. Any financial donation is welcome. Go to http://bit.ly/2vJ8og7 to see where to donate.

* Please invite interested students to attend a Washington, D.C., and Topeka Internship Information Session at 12:30 p.m. today (Friday, Sept. 8) in 417 Lindquist Hall.

* Heidi Bell, assistant professor in the Department of Human Performance Studies, was selected to discuss her research regarding tongue strength with Ira Flatow, host of NPR's Science Friday, from 2:06 to 2:19 p.m. today (Friday, Sept. 8). Bell's research suggests that tongue muscles (there are eight of them) can be strengthened just as any other muscles in the body, an important consideration as people age. Science Friday, a weekly science radio show is broadcast starting at 1 p.m. each Friday on KMUW 89.1.
