KCEE announces continuing financial support

The Kansas Council for Economic Education (KCEE) is pleased to announce continuing financial support from the Lynne Ruffin-Smith Charitable Foundation based in Las Vegas.

According to KCEE President Jim Graham, the organization recently received a grant from this foundation and has received several grants from the foundation in recent years. "We are very grateful for our relationship with the Lynne Ruffin-Smith Charitable Foundation and sincerely appreciate this vital funding," said Graham.

The KCEE is a nonprofit entity affiliated with all of Kansas' six public universities and hosted by the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University. The vision of KCEE is that every K-12 student in Kansas will become economically and financially literate so they will be more knowledgeable consumers, wiser savers and investors, better employees and more responsible citizens.

In order to reach as many students as possible, the mission of KCEE is to equip teachers to teach economics and personal finance. KCEE equips teachers by contributing to their professional development; by providing standards-based curriculum resources; and by providing programs and competitions that engage students through experiential learning and practical applications of knowledge. These programs and competitions include The Stock Market Game, LifeSmarts, Financial Foundations for Kids, Kansas Personal Finance Challenge, Kansas Economics Challenge and the KCEE's Economics Poster Contest. Details are available on the KCEE's website at www.kcee.wichita.edu.
