Register for Safe Zone LGBTQ Training

The Offices of Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resources and Counseling and Testing invite you to Safe Zone LGBTQ Training from 2:30-5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in 256 RSC. You must register for training. Students and community members can register at http://www.wichita.edu/safezone. Faculty and staff can sign up at myTraining. This training is a dynamic, interactive session that includes activities and discussion around:
- Inclusive language
- The process of coming out
- The power of the straight ally
- Understanding sexual identity
- How to respond to homophobic incidents
- Resources and much more

The goal of Safe Zone is to provide a safe and supportive network to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities at Wichita State. Additionally, the goal is to provide safe spaces on campus that are highly visible and easily identifiable where LGBTQ persons can find support and where bigotry and discrimination is not tolerated.

By attending this training, individuals are committed to being a Safe Zone Ally in which bigotry and discrimination are not tolerated.
