Diversity Lecture Series features keynote speaker Carmen Perez

The Diversity Lecture Series keynote speaker Carmen Perez will present "Moment to Movement: An Intersectional Approach to Building Resistance and Community," at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, in Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free for students with a WSU ID, $3 for faculty and staff, $5 for community members and $1 for ages 12 and under. Tickets are available in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Tickets are nonrefundable.

Perez a co-chair of the 2017 Women's March and executive director of Harry Belafonte's nonprofit Gathering For Justice, founder of Justice League NYC and CA. She has dedicated 20 years to advocating for many of today's important civil rights issues, including mass incarceration, gender equity, violence prevention, racial healing and community policing.
