Please review your HSA contributions

Now is the time to review your Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions to make sure you have not / will not exceed the IRS contribution limit for plan year 2017. The contribution limit for employee-only coverage is $3,400; the limit for spouse/family coverage is $6,750. The limit includes both employee and employer (WSU) contributions. For employees whose coverage changed at some point during the year, the Optum Bank prorated limits chart can be found at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5878.

The Office of Human Resources will contact individual employees who have already exceeded the contribution limit to make arrangements for excess funds to be pulled back from their Optum Bank accounts through payroll deduction. Changes to HSA contribution amounts for remaining paychecks in the plan year can be made through the State Employee Health Plan member portal at https://sehp.member.hrissuite.com.

Employees can review the year-to-date contributions made to their HSA account by logging into myWSU and clicking "Pay Stub" in the employment details box. The most recent pay stub will have the year-to-date totals for both employee and employer contributions. These two amounts combined should not exceed the applicable IRS limit at the end of 2017.
