IDT is now IDA

The office of Instructional Design and Technology, part of the Media Resources Center, has changed its name to Instructional Design and Access (IDA) to better reflect the team's focus on instructional access as a core focus of their mission.

"We chose the word access over accessibility to make it clear that our office is focused on breaking down a wide variety of barriers whether they are based on differences in ability, financial support or other impediments to student success," says Carolyn Speer, manager of IDA. "We also provide faculty access to training, support, and tools to help them be successful in their work."

IDA provides support for face-to-face, online and hybrid instruction. The team includes instructional designers and educational technologists who design classes, provide Blackboard support as well as support for other university-provided instructional tools, and works closely with the Office of Online Learning to ensure high quality experiences for online students as well as face-to-face students.
