WSU Symphony Orchestra spotlights faculty violin soloist Betul Soykan
Soykan, a second year professor at WSU, currently serves as a member of the Fairmount Piano Quartet, and holds four degrees in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy. Soykan will feature music by Johannes Brahms, Anton Webern and John Corigliano, and will fill the evening with both classical music and work inspired by the film "The Red Violin." Mark Laycock, professor of music at WSU, will lead the performance.
