Mona Nemer was named Canada's new Chief Science Advisor this week. As Canada's new top scientist, Nemer will provide impartial scientific advice to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Science. Nemer grew up in Lebanon. When Lebanon's civil war made it increasingly difficult for her to pursue her studies, her family arranged for her to move to the United States, where she completed an undergraduate degree at Wichita State.
