Wichita State's 'Writing Now, Reading Now' returns for 2017-18 academic year

Wichita State's "Writing Now, Reading Now" will return to Wichita State starting this fall. Kristina Marie Darling, the first author in the series, will be on campus at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Ulrich Museum. Darling is the author of 27 books and has been honored with six residencies, three at Yaddo and three at the American Academy in Rome.

Other authors in the series include:
- Yannick Murphy, author of "Stories in Another Language" " 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Ulrich Museum.

- Sandra Beasley, winner of the New Issues Poetry Prize " 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Ulrich Museum.

- Wichita State Master of Fine Arts (MFA) graduates " 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, in the Ulrich Museum.

The "Writing Now, Reading Now" series offers aspiring creative writers the opportunity to meet authors, buy books and ask questions about what it's like to be a professional writer. It offers a model for what creative writing MFA graduates might do in the future.

These events welcome attendance from the Wichita community.
