* PeopleAdmin is the university's applicant tracking system for hiring benefits-eligible positions. This is a hands-on class that will prepare you for the development of position descriptions, filling positions and navigation of the PeopleAdmin system. * Ask questions and share ideas in a series of workshops for faculty and staff on topics ranging from Honors and Uniscope to Honors course design and student research hosted by the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. Join Elaine Bernstorf and Carolyn Shaw for the first workshop on "Honors, Uniscope and You" from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Shocker Hall Building A multi-use room. * A Senate committee has been working for some time on a policy to provide advancement for non-tenure eligible faculty members (unclassified professionals and temporary faculty on annual contracts). Some of these faculty members have taught at WSU for decades with no opportunity for promotion. * Trunk or Treat is a family-orientated event welcoming Shockers of all ages to campus for a safe alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, and Student Activities Council wants your department to host a trunk! Register your department to host a festively decorated trunk at the event and provide candy and / or an interactive activity for the families of WSU students, faculty and staff, and kids from USD 259. Register your trunk at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5918 by Wednesday, Oct. 18. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, on the south lawn at Duerksen Fine Arts Center. * The Council for University Women (CUW) have planned a purse auction and wine pull on Thursday, Nov. 2, in an effort to raise money for student scholarships. CUW invites donations of new purses and bottles of wine in a variety of wine types and price ranges.
