* The WSU soccer team will host Kansas State at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 6) at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex field. Enjoy the game!

* Emerging Leaders applications close at midnight today (Friday, Oct. 6). Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5901 to apply.

* The 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available. Students and families will use their 2016 tax information and should consider using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer their income data. The application is available at http://www.fafsa.gov. Complete the FAFSA early if possible. For full consideration to several grants and other financial aid programs with limited funding, the FAFSA must be completed by the WSU priority date, Friday, Dec. 1, with the school code 001950.

* It's time for us to educate ourselves on domestic violence and human trafficking in our community. Join us at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, in the CAC Theater for "Let's Talk About It." Consumer Credit Counseling Service and the Panhellenic Council have invited a resident from the Raise My Head Foundation program to share her story with the Wichita community.

* Are you a Marvel fan or DC geek? Come choose a side during Student Activities Council's Geek Week, Monday, Oct. 9-Thursday, Oct. 12. Join SAC from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, on the first floor and various locations in the RSC, and have a chance to win your own Marvel- or DC-themed prizes, create perler bead crafts and vote for your favorite superheroes.

* The Undergraduate Student Research and Creative Activity Grants Program is accepting applications for grants of up to $1,000 for students pursuing research or creative projects. Sophomores, juniors or seniors with a GPA of at least 2.5 and at least two semesters remaining at WSU (including the semester in which you apply), are full time and have a faculty research mentor are eligible. Preference is given to projects not otherwise funded and previous awardees are not eligible.
