* Ready to take the first steps with your business? Come learn about the process of creating a business model with the business model canvas and then write your own. Viable ideas have the potential to win $500 in prototyping funds. Come at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 10) to the Innovation Hub, second floor, Devlin Hall, and be ready to think critically.
* WSU's American Chemical Society (ACS) Club invites you to an event at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 10) in 108 McKinley Hall. There will be free liquid nitrogen ice cream and a demonstration of other cool experiments.
* Join the WSU Concert Chorale and A Cappella Choir as they present their fall concert at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 10) in Wiedemann Hall. Admission is free for students with a WSU ID.
* Guide is WSU's new mobile application to help you stay in the game and on track during your time as a Shocker. Guide provides one easy timeline to remind you about deadlines, give you tips to create good habits and more.
* Summer 2018 (May 13-June 2) a teaching opportunity in Asuncion, Paraguay in South America is available to WSU students through a partnership with a local nonprofit organization. Students will stay with host families and no prior Spanish language is required. The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 20. * Trunk or Treat is a family-orientated event welcoming Shockers of all ages to campus for a safe alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, and Student Activities Council wants your department to host a trunk! Register your department to host a festively decorated trunk at the event and provide candy and / or an interactive activity for the families of WSU students, faculty and staff, and kids from USD 259. Register your trunk at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5918 by Wednesday, Oct. 18. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, on the south lawn of Duerksen Fine Arts Center. * The 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available. Students and families will use their 2016 tax information and should consider using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer their income data. The application is available at http://www.fafsa.gov. Complete the FAFSA early if possible. For full consideration to several grants and other financial aid programs with limited funding, the FAFSA must be completed by the WSU priority date, Friday, Dec. 1, with the school code 001950.
