Reminders, deadlines and events

* The Housing and Residence Life central office will be closed on Friday, Oct. 13, due to office relocation from Fairmount Commons to The Flats. Staff will continue to be available at the front desks of both Shocker Hall and The Flats at WSU to assist student inquiries as needed. We apologize for any inconvenience, and will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16.

* IBSA (International Business Studies Association) is hosting a Trivia night from 6:30-9 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 11) in 319 RSC. We will have prizes and candy. The event is free and open to all WSU students.

* Do you want to boost your entrepreneurial skills this month? The Business Booster Series is here to help. Don't miss an opportunity to hone in on your marketing skills from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in the second floor, Devlin Hall Innovation Hub. * The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is excited to announce the creation of a new LGBTQ student lounge and support space in 205 RSC. To celebrate, there will be an open house tomorrow (Thursday Oct. 12) and refreshments will be provided from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with the students from Spectrum: LGBTQ & Allies.

* Registration is open for our biggest fitness challenge of the semester -- the F45 playoffs on Friday, Nov. 10, in the Heskett Center. Test your fitness ability in this 10-minute circuit to crown WSU's top athlete. There are four age divisions, 48 available spots and prizes for all winners. To make it even more fun this year, we have a team division. Find out more at the guest service desk in the Heskett Center.

* Join Student Wellness, Mel Hambleton Ford and Tri-Delta for the 6th annual Big Pink Volleyball on Friday, Oct. 27. Registration is open at imleagues.com/wichita. If you have any questions, contact cr.competitionGA@wichita.edu.

* Happy Birthday to WU! Kick off Shocktoberfest by celebrating Wu's Birthday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, in the RSC east courtyard. There will be games and activities, music, a photo booth and cake! It's not everyday the school's mascot throws a party, and this is one you won't want to miss.
