Westar Energy provides grant for youth economic and financial literacy
"The KCEE and the K-12 students in Kansas are very grateful for this gift," said Jim Graham, KCEE's president and CEO. The grant check was presented to Graham at Westar's office in Wichita by Don Sherman, Westar's vice president for Community Relations and Strategic Partnerships.
About the KCEE
The Kansas Council for Economic Education (KCEE) is a nonprofit organization affiliated with all of Kansas' six public universities and hosted by the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University. The KCEE strives to increase the economic and financial literacy of K-12 students by equipping their teachers to teach economics and personal finance and by providing programs and competitions that engage students through experiential learning and practical applications of knowledge. The KCEE reaches more than 100,000 students through more than 1,000 teachers each year.
