John Goering, WSU assistant professor of jazz piano, will present Cubana Bop, An Evening of Latin Jazz from 7:30-9:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday Oct. 26) at The Donut Whole, 1720 E. Douglas Ave. This live performance will explore the synthesis of traditional Afro-Cuban folkloric rhythms with modern jazz harmonies, and will feature the Wichita premiere of three arrangements.
Cubana Bop is an all-star group, featuring Tyler Gauldin, saxophone; Dalton Williams, trumpet; Lucas Hulett, trombone; Seth Carrithers, bass; Miguel Santana, Sr., percussion; Miguel Santana, Jr., percussion; and John Goering, keyboard. No cover charge.
