Wireless Spectrum changes

The FCC has sold most of the 600 MHz frequencies (614-698) to Verizon, effective Nov. 1. This may impact your department if you have any wireless microphone or audio systems. Devices that operate in frequencies outside of the 600 MHz range are not affected by this change, although the 700 MHz range was previously sold as well. The university is subject to a fine if anyone is found to be using any devices transmitting in that range after Nov. 1. If you currently own and / or are using any wireless devices in the 600 or 700 MHz range, or if you have wireless devices (not Wi-Fi) and you're not sure what frequencies they are, contact Campus Media Services at cms@wichita.edu or 978-3588.
