Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* Because of campus visits for Black & Yellow Day, we are expecting longer than usual lines in Shocker Dining today (Monday, Oct. 30) so plan accordingly. WSU is bringing 500-plus guests to campus today so be prepared for some delays in serving and seating.

* Duplication Station in Morrison Hall will be closed today (Monday, Oct. 30) to receive new equipment and training.

* Future Health Care Professionals (FHCP) is hosting its annual Halloween event Spooktacular, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 31) in the lobby of Ahlberg Hall, second floor. All students and faculty of the WSU community are welcome. Those who come in a costume will be entered in a prize drawing. Tickets are $5.

* Join the Council for University Women (CUW) from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, for a tasting of delicious wines, paired with unique hors d'oeuvres. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and bid on purses at the silent auction. All auction proceeds benefit the CUW scholarship fund. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. * The WSU Opera Theater and WSU Symphony Orchestra will perform "L 'Elisir d'Amore" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 11, in Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center. * The online Banner schedule search and student registration system has been updated. The Registration Tools portal channel on the myClasses tab has links that will take students, faculty and staff to the new system landing page. From this page, the class schedule listings can be searched and the new and improved registration / add / drop accessed. Registration for spring 2018 opens on Monday, Nov 13, so now is the time that students and advisors can use the system to determine their spring schedule. Take a moment to check out the new system; any questions or issues can be directed to Gina Crabtree, university registrar, at gina.crabtree@wichita.edu.

* It has been the custom of Wichita State's Police Department to offer verbal warnings to drivers for traffic infractions on campus without real consequences for their bad driving habits. * Student Activities Council is recruiting organizations to participate in the Fall 2017 Finals Frenzy Week. Finals Frenzy takes place each semester during finals week to reduce stress through educational and entertaining programs.
