* Wichita State and Newman University will stage a men's basketball charity exhibition game at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Charles Koch Arena. Proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to benefit hurricane and other disaster relief efforts. Tickets are priced at $15 and $20 each. * WSU Parking offers text alerts to ePermit holders. Text alerts will notify you if you receive a parking warning or citation as well as notifying you of lot closures. A citation for parking in a reserved lot for men's basketball is $150. WSU Parking encourages you to log in to your ePermit account and add your cell phone number and wireless carrier to receive these helpful alerts. * It has been the custom of Wichita State's Police Department to offer verbal warnings to drivers for traffic infractions on campus without real consequences for their bad driving habits. * EPICS in IEEE at WSU in collaboration with EECS Department Student Honor Society (IEEE-HKN) is looking for volunteers to work on an engineering community service project building ride-on cars for children with disabilities. IEEE-HKN will organize a community build of 10 cars from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, with the corporation of IEEE-HKN volunteers, high school students, engineering students and physiotherapy students. * The Academy for Effective Teaching invites students to vote for WSU faculty members who deserve to be recognized for excellent teaching. Voting will take place today (Monday, Oct. 30)-Monday, Nov. 13. Any current undergraduate student with 30 or more hours of credit at WSU or current graduate student with 15 credit hours or more can vote. To vote: Log in to your myWSU account. Under Student Tools, you will find a link "Vote for Outstanding Faculty" under Surveys.

* The Graduate School has announced a Friday, Nov. 10, submission deadline for Capitol Graduate Research Summit (CGRS) abstracts. Students who have research that is relevant to the state of Kansas have an opportunity to present a poster on their "hot topic" at the Capitol in Topeka on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Cash prizes are awarded! * Join Spectrum: LGBTQ and Allies at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, for a Royal Banquet in 233 RSC. * The Ad Astra Conference brings first-generation students from universities across Kansas together for a common experience, with a desired outcome of greater persistence to graduation and a better prepared Kansas workforce.
