* Future Health Care Professionals (FHCP) is hosting its annual Halloween event Spooktacular, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. today (Tuesday, Oct. 31) in the lobby of Ahlberg Hall, second floor. All students and faculty of the WSU community are welcome. Those who come in a costume will be entered in a prize drawing. Tickets are $5.
* Today (Tuesday, Oct. 31) is the final day to purchase pink merchandise from the University Bookstore, with $1 from each item sold being donated to Victory in the Valley, which provides support to cancer patients, survivors and their families in the area. Since October 1, the Bookstore has raised $377! There are two T-shirt options featured for $9.99. This offer is in store only.
* Join the Council for University Women (CUW) from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, for a tasting of delicious wines, paired with unique hors d'oeuvres. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and bid on purses at the silent auction. All auction proceeds benefit the CUW scholarship fund. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. * The WSU Opera Theater and WSU Symphony Orchestra will perform "L 'Elisir d'Amore" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 11, in Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center. * Join the Wichita State University Libraries and Library Associates in celebrating the Wichita African American Business History Project at a reception from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, in the lower level, Ablah Library outside Special Collections. Remarks by Robert E. Weems, Jr. and Willard W. Garvey distinguished professor of business history and creator of the Wichita African American Business History Project, will begin at 3 p.m. It's free and open to the public. * Join Community Service Board and the Office of International Education for a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in 233 RSC. Tickets are $5 for WSU students and $10 for WSU faculty and staff.
