Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast
* Stop by the RSC Fast Break Lounge between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 1) for the live music series, RSC Unplugged featuring Eric Shumaker. Grab a cup of coffee and relax with some great music.
* The Wichita State women's basketball program opens the 2017-18 season with an exhibition game against Oklahoma Baptist at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 1) in Charles Koch Arena. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267). Admission is free for students with a WSU ID.
* The Housing and Residence Life main offices have relocated from Fairmount Commons to The Flats at WSU. Faculty and staff are invited to an informal open house at The Flats from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 2). If you haven't toured The Flats yet, this will be a great opportunity to view an apartment and the housing offices. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
* Join the Council for University Women (CUW) from 4:30-6:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 2) for a tasting of delicious wines, paired with unique hors d'oeuvres. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and bid on purses at the silent auction. All auction proceeds benefit the CUW scholarship fund. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. * A free Adult CPR / AED Clinic for students, faculty, staff and Innovation Campus employees will be offered at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, in 134 Heskett Center. The clinic will be conducted by Frank Rokosz, associate professor of Human Performance Studies.
* Learn to help your students with Kognito at-risk training. This short, interactive program will teach you how to recognize possible mental health issues and help your students seek proper help through on-campus resources. Kognito at-risk is free and can be found at http://wichita.edu/kognito
* Student Activities Council is recruiting organizations to participate in the Fall 2017 Finals Frenzy Week. Finals Frenzy takes place each semester during finals week to reduce stress through educational and entertaining programs. * Join Community Service Board and the Office of International Education for a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in 233 RSC. This is a great opportunity for domestic students, faculty and staff to share their Thanksgiving traditions with our international students. Tickets are $5 for WSU students and $10 for WSU faculty and staff.
