* Wichita State's Department of History invites you to its Fall 2017 lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, in 209 Hubbard Hall. Keona Ervin will speak on her new book "Gateway to Equality: Black Women and the Struggle for Economic Justice in St. Louis." The event is free and open to the public.

* The Wichita State University Opera Theater and WSU Symphony Orchestra will perform "L 'Elisir d'Amore" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 11, in Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center. "L 'Elisir d'Amore" combines romance and comedy with some of the most loved arias and ensembles in opera history. The performance is suitable for all ages.
