A record-breaking 675 students submitted applications to compete for three $60,000 Harry Gore Memorial Scholarship at the Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI) on Saturday, Nov. 18. Many students are from Kansas, but 152, or 23 percent, are attending from out-of-state. The states outside of Kansas with the highest number of students competing include Oklahoma (57), Missouri (35), Texas (19), and Illinois (11). Students from Wichita USD 259 make up 18 percent of the competitors with 120 students planning to attend. We need your help. Sign up to be an observer for the morning session from 7:30-10:30 a.m., the afternoon session from 2:30-5:30 p.m., or for both sessions at http://www.wichita.edu/dsiobserver.
