New flag to be dedicated by Wichita State military and veteran students

The first flag honoring prisoners of war and soldiers missing in action on Wichita State's campus will be dedicated by military and veteran students at 2:45 p.m. today (Wednesday,) Nov. 8 as part of the rededication of Grace Wilkie Hall.

The building is being rededicated in honor of the 50th anniversary of the death of Grace Wilkie, for whom the building was named after.

The rededication begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Wichita State Heskett Center lobby and will move to the Grace Wilkie lawn for the flag dedication.

An open house will follow the flag dedication where students, faculty and staff can visit a variety of services the building offers including the Counseling and Testing Center, Disability Services, Student Conduct and Community Standards, Student Support Services, Military and Veteran Student Center and Shocker Support Locker.

The rededication of Grace Wilkie Hall is an opportunity for WSU students, faculty and staff to help honor Wilkie's work and spirit as a woman dedicated to helping students.
