* The National Association of Black Storytellers will feature Lynette Ford at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 9) in 208 Hubbard Hall. Come and hear, feel and see the authentic voice of black storytelling. Learn about the rich heritage of the African oral tradition of storytelling.

* The Wichita State University Opera Theater and WSU Symphony Orchestra will perform "L 'Elisir d'Amore" at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 9) and Saturday, Nov. 11, in Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center. "L 'Elisir d'Amore" combines romance and comedy with some of the most loved arias and ensembles in opera history. For tickets, go to http://www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice or call 978-3233. Students get in free with a WSU ID.

* Celebrate the start of the Shocker basketball season with Shocker season starter at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 10) in the Shocker Hall courtyard. There will be face painting, tailgating, food, photo booth, games, prizes and music. It's free for students with a WSU ID. * Campus Ministries is compiling a memory book to surprise Dot McNicol. If you would like to contribute to the book, stop by 244 RSC to write a note or memory in the book. If you are unable to stop by, you can fill out a form online at http://webs.wichita.edu/?u=rsc&p=/dotmemory/ to contribute to the book. The deadline for memories to be included in the book is Thursday, Nov. 30.

* Verne Harnish, founder of the world-renowned Entrepreneur's Organization and CEO of Gazelles, a global executive education and coaching company, will present a talk at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Hughes Metropolitan Complex. His lecture is titled "Scaling Up: How Few Companies Make It and Why the Rest Don't." Admission is free. Copies of Harnish's most recent book will be given to the first 250 people in attendance.
