Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* Wei Wei, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at WSU, will give a talk as part of the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Seminar Series from 11 a.m.-noon today (Monday, Nov. 13) in 208 Hubbard Hall. Wei's talk will be "Design and Synthesis of Highly Efficient Electrode Materials and Their Applications in Solar Cells."

* The Offices of Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resources and the Counseling and Testing Center invite you to Gender Diversity Training from 2:30-5 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 13). The goal is to clarify the understanding of issues related to gender minority / transgender people. All faculty and staff must sign up through myTraining via the myWSU portal.

* International Education week is now to Friday, Nov. 17. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/IEWeek for all the week's events.

* The WSU men's basketball team will play the College of Charleston at 8 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 13) at Charles Koch Arena. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* The next Pre-Tenure Club meeting will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 14) in 300 Clinton Hall. Send questions and RSVPs to Gery Markova at gergana.markova@wichita.edu.

* PeopleAdmin is the university's applicant tracking system for hiring benefits-eligible positions. The hands-on class on Wednesday, Nov. 15, will prepare you for the development of position descriptions, filling positions and navigation of the PeopleAdmin system. Register through myTraining in myWSU. Contact myTraining@wichita.edu with questions.

* Come shop locally in the RSC and get some early holiday shopping done! Student Activities Council will host its annual Arts & Crafts Fair from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 14) and Wednesday, Nov. 15, on the RSC 1st floor. There will be specially handcrafted one-of-a-kind gifts for you or anyone on your gift-giving list. Forms of payment will vary.

* The University Bookstore will have a one-day-only $12 sweatpants sale on Thursday, Nov. 16. Supplies are limited, so get there early! Limit two per customer. Sale is in store only.

* The University Bookstore is taking regalia rental orders from faculty and staff who plan to attend the Fall 2017 commencement. The deadline to place your order is 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17. Please email Julie at bookstore@wichita.edu or call 978-7021. Payment is due when you place your order.
