Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast
- For exempt staff who earn vacation, eight (8) hours has been added to your Veterans Holiday Exempt balance.
- If you do not work on Friday, Nov. 10, which is the official observed Veteran's Holiday, please record 8 hours on the Veteran's Holiday Exempt row of your Leave Report.
- If you do work on Friday, Nov. 10, nothing needs to be entered for this date and the 8 hours can be used at a future date.

* All faculty and staff are invited to a Study Abroad information session at 1 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 10) in 126 Clinton Hall, to learn more about programs available to students.
* Celebrate the start of the Shocker basketball season with Shocker season starter at 4 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 10) in the Shocker Hall courtyard. There will be face painting, tailgating, food, photo booth, games, prizes and music. It's free for students with a WSU ID.
* The men's basketball team will host UMKC at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 10). For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).
* The Wichita State University Opera Theater and WSU Symphony Orchestra will perform "L 'Elisir d'Amore" at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 11) in Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center. "L 'Elisir d'Amore" combines romance and comedy with some of the most loved arias and ensembles in opera history. For tickets, go to http://www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice or call 978-3233. Students get in free with a WSU ID.
* The University Holiday Closedown Schedule has been announced by the Office of Human Resources. Most university offices will be closed from Friday, Dec. 22, through Monday, Jan. 1. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5403 for more information.
* Come to the RSC for some early holiday shopping! Student Activities Council will host its annual Arts & Crafts Fair from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 14-15, on the RSC 1st floor. There will be specially handcrafted one-of-a-kind gifts for you or anyone on your gift-giving list. Forms of payment will vary.
* All faculty and staff who are interested in creating an Honors course are invited to a workshop hosted by Honors from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Shocker Hall Multi-Use Room A132. Join Neal Allen and some of his students to talk about "Creating an Honors Course? Student Impact and Tenure / Promotion."
