Fast admissions facts from October
- Admissions representatives made about 1,200 calls to high school seniors who were awarded a merit scholarship.
- 625 students and guests came to campus on an individual campus visit compared to 550 students and guests in October 2016.
- More than 6,350 new students were added to our CRM and outreach platform, Recruiter.
- Admissions hosted 27 group visits with 750 prospective students attending.
- 168 high school visits and college fairs were attended by an admissions staff member.
- Admissions officers received and processed 2,923 applications.
- Shocker Outreach Team members - current Wichita State students - called 5,478 prospective students about various topics including congratulating them on being admitted, inviting them to events and reminders about deadlines.
October is a pivotal month in the college search process as typically high school seniors are narrowing down a handful of colleges to apply for admission. The next few months is when the admissions team will focus more on connecting with students who are admitted to provide specific information about how Wichita State might be the right fit for them.
