Emeritus status granted to former VP Kopita

President Don Beggs has granted emeritus status to recently retired vice president for Campus Life and University Relations Ronald R. Kopita. Emeritus status is an honorary title awarded to a retiring faculty member or administrator for extended meritorious service. Earlier this week, WSU Today ran a list of 2009 emeritus faculty announced by the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research.

They include: Judith Johnson, associate professor (history); Susan Kovar, dean and professor (Graduate School and kinesiology and sports studies); Mahmoud Edwin Sawan, professor and chairperson (electrical and computer engineering); Ram Singhal, professor (chemistry); Juanita Tate, associate professor (nursing); and Phillip Thomas, dean and professor (LAS and history).
