* Faculty on the tenure track are invited to a panel discussion hosted by the Office of Academic Affairs on how to successfully navigate the tenure process at WSU from noon-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in 238 RSC. The panelists are Carolyn Shaw, chair of Political Science and Faculty Senate President; Jay Price, chair of History; and Gergana Markova, Faculty Development Fellow and associate professor of management. * The WSU Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of film music at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Miller Concert Hall. * The RSC and its departments will have altered hours during Thanksgiving break. The building and departments will close early today (Wednesday, Nov. 22). See http://www.wichita.edu/rschours for specific department closing times. The building and all departments will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24. The University Bookstore will be the only department open on Saturday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The RSC and all departments will be closed again on Sunday, Nov. 26.
* Bin Li, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, will give a talk as part of the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Seminar Series from 11 a.m.-noon Monday, Nov. 27, in 208 Hubbard Hall. The talk is titled "Soy Protein as Functional Materials."
