WSU Foundation launches Memorials and Tributes page
Memorial gifts are a testimony to the meaningfulness of a life that has passed, while tribute gifts remember a birthday, anniversary or special event. Giving to a memorial or sending a tribute gift is now a little easier by visiting the new "Memorial and Tribute Gifts" page on the WSU Foundation Web site, http://webs.wichita.edu/?u=foundation2&p=/index. Click on "Support WSU."
The new page explains the various options for contributing to a memorial or making a tribute gift in honor of someone or an occasion. Tribute gifts now include the option of sending the honoree a specific occasion card announcing a gift that celebrates a birthday, retirement or get well wishes.
The page also lists open memorials currently accepting gifts, as well as information on how to establish a new memorial. In FY09, 40 memorials were established, resulting in $103,727 in gifts, while tribute gifts honoring birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and holidays resulted in $19,913 in contributions.
