As students, staff and faculty begin the fall semester, Student Health reminds you to prepare and protect yourself against the seasonal flu or the novel influenza A (H1N1, also known as the swine flu) virus infection. There have been several documented cases of H1N1 influenza A on our campus since the spring semester. In addition to using good respiratory and hand washing etiquette, go to http://www.wichita.edu/shs to learn ways to reduce the spread of germs and other information from the Centers for Disease Control. If you have flu symptoms, call Student Health first at 978-3620 and talk to one of the nursing staff before coming in. Student Health wants to minimize exposure to healthy persons in the office, at home, in class or at work.
