Department of History announces 'Luke the Longhorn' graphic novel release party

The WSU Department of History invites you to the release of a new graphic novel depicting the founding of Wichita from 1-3 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 2) at Old Cowtown Museum. The museum will host writers and researchers who created "Luke the Longhorn: Chisholm's Trail." Get a copy of the graphic novel, take pictures with a live longhorn calf, and explore some of the buildings that were built in the early days of Wichita.

Writer Matthew Pacholski, artist Miles Foley and a team of student researchers from WSU -- Andrea Wilson, Barb Myers and Alicia Duran -- have taken this story and put it into a graphic novel. This rich and diverse depiction is easy to read and fun for all ages. Admission to the museum is free with this event.
