* Higher Education Day is an advocacy event at the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka on Feb 7. It is organized by the state universities' student governments to lobby Kansas legislators on public policy topics that are of interest to college students. Please complete an application at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?6061 and turn in your application to the SGA office in 219 RSC by 5 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 1).

* Free HIV testing for WSU students from Student Health Services will be available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 1) on the third floor, RSC. There will be no tests administered after 3 p.m. Learn more at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?6068

* All students are invited to take a break from classes and join us for snacks and board games at the College of Education's Freshmen Friday from 1-3 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 1) in the Shocker Hall Multipurpose Room.

* Grad students party at the Ulrich, co-sponsored by the Graduate School and Ulrich Museum of Art, will be held from 3-4:30 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 1) at the Ulrich.

* The Shocker volleyball team will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championships today (Friday, Dec. 1) and Saturday, Dec. 2, in Charles Koch Arena. WSU will face Radford at 8 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 1). Kansas will face Missouri at 6 p.m. The winners of the two matches will face off at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 2). All-session advance tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for youth / seniors. At the door on Friday, if available, tickets will be $8 for adults, $6 youth / seniors, and $2 for college students. * Join all four WSU choirs as they ring in the holidays with "The 55th Annual Candlelight Concert: Gloria in Excelsis." Concerts will be performed at 7:30 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 1); 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2; and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3; in Wiedemann Hall. * In the mood for some pizza? The first weekend of every month, Papa John's will donate a percentage of their proceeds to Shocker Rowing when the code WSUROW is used. The code can be used in store, on the phone and online. This code works in the six Wichita stores and in Andover and Derby. You can also use additional promo codes.

* The Office of Admissions is hiring student tour guides, also known as Shocker Navigators, to aid in the recruitment process of prospective students. Tours typically take place between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday and some weekends, so availability during those timeframes is a desired trait. The application will be available on Handshake beginning today (Friday, Dec. 1) and will close on Sunday, Dec. 31.

* The Barton School Dean's Ambassadors are hosting a School Supply Drive. Drop off items in our donations box in the lobby of Clinton Hall by Friday, Dec. 8. All supplies will be donated to the Shocker Support Locker to be used by fellow WSU students in need. Contact bsda@wichita.edu with questions.
