Last year, the Chamber's marketing and communications team was invited to make a presentation about the Wichita flag to students participating in the Elliott School of Communication's annual Comm Week. Stressing that the #ILoveWichita and Wichita flag movement has been fueled by partnerships, passion and pride. Students were asked to brainstorm ways to widen the movement and make it more inclusive. They came up with about eight ways to further accelerate civic pride. One idea was to donate a Wichita flag to every school in the Wichita Public Schools system so students could see it flying every day.
Through partnerships and collaboration, Together Wichita turned that idea into reality last week when 93 Wichita flags were donated to Wichita Public Schools, one for each of their learning centers. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?6077 for more information.
